ARTER, IN COLLABORATION WITH NONFICTION AND THE SCIENCES ET TECHNIQUES DE L’EXPOSITION MASTER’S PROGRAM AT THE UNIVERSITÉ PANTHÉON SORBONNE, ORGANIZED AN EVENT TO DISCUSS ECOLOGICAL ISSUES IN THE FIELD OF CREATION.

THE EVENT, WHICH TOOK PLACE AT THE PALAIS DE TOKYO, BROUGHT TOGETHER THINKERS IN THE FIELDS OF ECOLOGY AND ART TO ENGAGE IN IN-DEPTH REFLECTION ON THEIR MODELS OF ARTISTIC PRODUCTION, THEIR LINKS TO THE LIVING WORLD AND THE IMAGINARIES THEY CONVEY.

THESE DISCUSSIONS BEGAN WITH THE PROJECTION OF SOLASTALGIA, AN 18-MINUTE DOCUMENTARY THAT FOLLOWED XAVIER VEILHAN’S STUDIO, THE FRENCH PAVILION AT THE VENICE BIENNALE, AND THE SHOW LES GUETTEUSES, WINNER OF THE MONDES NOUVEAUX PROGRAM INITIATED BY THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF CULTURE. SOLASTALGIA HIGHLIGHTS THE QUESTIONS RAISED BY MEN AND WOMEN IN THE ARTS SECTOR WHO HAVE CHOSEN TO MAKE A COMMITMENT TO REDUCING THEIR CARBON FOOTPRINT, RETHINKING THEIR BUSINESS MODELS AND DEVELOPING POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACTS.
