ARTER CO-PRODUCES Compulsory Figures .

On the ice, the dancer and skater Stephen Thompson revives this former Olympic discipline. Like an archaeologist of movement, he breathes new life into the very technical, precise “imposed figures” that consisted of repeatedly scratching the same circular form into the ice. Over the course of the performance, these tableaux come to life to orchestrate a complete experience at the heart of movement.
