In autumn 2026, the Fondation Louis Vuitton presents Gustave Fayet: Collector – Creator, a major exhibition devoted to a pioneering figure in modern art. A visionary collector, artist and entrepreneur, Fayet played a distinctive role in championing the avant-garde and shaping the decorative arts of his time.

Occupying the Fondation’s exhibition spaces, the exhibition brings together 728 works and documents, exploring two complementary facets of Fayet’s career: the collector and the creator. From masterpieces by Van Gogh, Gauguin and Redon to Fayet’s own decorative creations, the exhibition reveals a vibrant artistic world in which collecting, artistic practice and the avant-garde intersect. It reflects a vision of art that transcends traditional boundaries and extends into every aspect of life.

The culmination of several years of research, this first major international exhibition dedicated to Gustave Fayet sheds new light on an overlooked yet influential figure whose contribution helped shape the emergence of modern art and the renewal of the decorative arts at the turn of the 20th century.

ARTER was responsible for the delegated technical coordination and implementation of the exhibition.
